EMS Operations |
|
Currently we staff 7 ALS transport units and 1 Quick Response Vehicle, to cover Danville and Pittsylvania County.
We use a variety of staffing schedules to cover the largest county in the Commonwealth. Full Time personnel work a 24 hour shift with 72 hours off. We staff 3 power crews from 9-5, 12-8, and 7p-7a. |

A Medic Unit is staffed with an EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic |

E is for Enhanced and these units are staffed with advanced level EMTs known as EMT-Enhanced |

T is for Transport and these units are staffed to with two basic EMTs. |

24 HOUR SHIFT MEDIC UNITS THAT RESPOND TO ALL ALS1 EMERGENCIES. THESE UNITS ARE BASED AT OUR HEADQUARTER BASE ON FORESTDALE DRIVE. THESE UNITS COVER DISTRICTS 1 AND BACK UP DISTRICT 3 (Chatham / Blairs / Gretna Area) |

This is 24 hour unit based at our Base 2 substation located at Danville Regional Medical Center. |

These are our power shift units that cover basic life support transports during our prime time. They are typically staffed from 9-5 and from 12-8. |

This unit is a 24 hour staffed unit that is the primary response unit for District 3. |
|
The newest addition to our fleet. This is a 12 hour staffed unit from 7p-7a specifically for those late night out of district transports. |

This unit can be staffed by administrative personnel in the event of increased call volumes. |
|
This is a quick response vehicle used to provide ALS support to volunteer agencies and is typically staffed during peek business hours. |
